Services

What we do for homeowners

One point of contact for your project, bringing you, your designers and our trusted trades together as one team.

01

Construction Management

Day-to-day leadership on site: scheduling and sequencing the trades, tracking progress against the plans and keeping the work moving.

02

Owner's Representation

We act as your agent, not your contractor, so our only interest is yours. You see every bid, every invoice and every change.

03

Specifications & Selections

Written specifications and a guided selections process for brick, stone, paint, fixtures and finishes, each approved by you in writing.

04

Bidding & Procurement

Prequalified subcontractors, competitive quotes leveled side by side, and long-lead items ordered early so the schedule holds.

05

Design, Architecture & Build

From first sketch to finished home: working with you and your architect on plans that are beautiful, buildable and true to your vision.

06

Consulting

Expert advice before you commit: reviewing plans, budgets and bids, and helping you decide on the right path for your project.

Our Approach

Your vision, realized, should feel right before you know why.

The spaces that endure share a quiet discipline: lines that align, parts that answer one another, details scaled to the whole. None of it calls attention to itself, yet you feel it the moment you walk in.

We bring that discipline to every project, large or small, new construction or renovation, residential or commercial. We plan carefully before the work begins, and we work alongside the trades to carry it through until the last detail is in place.

Symmetry

Centered openings, matched elevations and a clear axis through each room give a home its sense of order and calm.

Balance & Proportion

Windows, doors, casing and crown sized in relation to one another and to the room, so nothing feels too heavy or too slight.

Clean Lines

Straight, plumb and true. Reveals that are even, joints that are tight and transitions that resolve cleanly from one material to the next.

Attention to Detail

The things most people never notice, like a mitered return, a scribed fit or a hidden fastener, are the things we check twice.

Four parts of every project

Most every construction project comes down to the same four parts. Understanding how they fit together, and in what order, is what keeps a project on budget and on schedule.

01

Site Work

Surveys, clearing, grading, drainage, utilities and foundations. The ground everything else depends on.

02

Structure

Framing, roofing, windows, doors and the exterior envelope that makes the home strong and weather-tight.

03

Mechanical

Plumbing, electrical, heating and cooling. The systems behind the walls that make a house comfortable and livable.

04

Finish

Drywall, trim, cabinetry, tile, paint and fixtures. The craftsmanship you see and touch every day.

Three evolutions, one plan

Every project moves through the same deliberate sequence, so decisions are made before money is spent and work begins only when it is ready.

Evolution 01

Specifications & Selections

We write the specifications, guide your selections and gather subcontractor quotes, so scope and price are settled up front.

Evolution 02

Preparation

Long-lead materials are ordered, permits are secured and the site is cleaned and prepared, so construction starts clean.

Evolution 03

Prosecution of the Work

We coordinate the trades on site every day, review every pay request and collect lien waivers, through punch list and final walkthrough.

About

Built on craft

Building runs in the family. Mark Hamilton, founder of SMHamilton Group, is a fourth-generation carpenter, builder and entrepreneur with 25 years of experience. The lessons passed down through his family, from how to hold a hammer (Yep, that's actually me with my grandfather, getting one of my earliest hammer-holding lessons) to how to stand behind your work, still guide every project we take on.
